High Adventure

Troop 82 has traditionally gone on High Adventure trips in the month of August. We alternate between one of Scouting America's 4 Bases - Summit, Sea Base, Philmont, and Northern Tier - and our own self planned trips, most recently a 40 mile backpacking trip to Glacier National Park! We have also recently circumnavigated the beautiful island of Saint John, Virgin Islands on a 50-ft sail boat based out of St Thomas SeaBase. Past trips also include backpacking in Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico, backpacking the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan and bike packing from Grand Rapids to St Cloud!

High Adventure is offered to scouts who have earned their First Class rank and are age 14 or older (depending on the trip the lowest age is subject to change). High Adventure provides scouts the opportunity to go on longer trips in wilder places, to use the outdoor skills they've learned, and to do things that aren't everyday activites!
